Well done to all of the children who won the award this month. The ‘Golden Child’ award is given each month to children for acts of kindness.

Tech and engineering week
We learnt so much during Tech and Engineering week! Thanks so much to Ms McNerney and the children on the STEM committee for organising the activities in the different classes.

Fundraiser for tech in our school

Ms Parle undertook a vow of silence for three days to raise money for assistive technology in our school. She raised €2,360, thanks to the generosity of the PA, staff members, parents and friends. Many thanks to everyone who gave their support in any way.
Wellbeing week
A huge thanks to Miss Hughes and the Wellbeing Committee for organising and co-ordinating Wellbeing Week this year! The children took part in a wide range of fantastic activities and managed to raise money for Carbury Carers too.

Art Club Exhibition
To celebrate the end of Art club, we had an exhibition for the parents of the children. It was lovely to see everyone there and the children were given an opportunity to chat about their work. As you can see, we have some serious budding artists at Scoil San Treasa!

Wild school
We have been using logs, sticks and other natural objects to build huts during playtime. We have been working together to achieve this and know that we are so lucky to have so much nature around us.

Art club
Art Club is a place where the children get a chance to try out new things. We work individually, in pairs and altogether, and use a wide variety of media. We love to listen to music as we work!

The children are enjoying Art club, we have worked with rubber cement, watercolours and oil pastels already!

Halloween at Kilshanroe!

We are always amazed at the imagination and creativity displayed by the children and their parents when making costumes from scratch, and this year was no exception. Many thanks to everyone for making it such a fun day!

Paddy Madden visit
The brilliant Nature Educator, Paddy Madden came to our school again to speak to the children about a wide variety of subjects: dinosaurs, fossils, plants and animals and insects. He was able to give us invaluable advice regarding the development of our outdoor area.

Bee bomb project
This is a whole school project and has taken on a life of it’s own! The children saved seeds from our wildflower garden. We then allowed them to dry out completely and made bee bombs from them – each child went home with one for home. We are also making seed packets to sell at the Christmas Craft Fair. Any money made will go into developing our garden further.

Anna in 5th class is a talented artist and designed the seed packets, along with Ray (6th) and Tommy. (5th) We will post some pictures soon to show you how well they look.
Basketball match
The children teamed up with staff members to play in a basketball tournament. It was a very exciting series of games, and the red team won after a hard-fought battle in the finals.
