Science Week took place 13-20th November. During this week is class took part in different science projects and experiments
Junior and Senior Infants
Junior and Senior Infants worked in groups to make Bug Hotels which they placed outside on yard to see if any insects would come to stay. During this time Infants were learning about the weather so took part in the rainbow experiment and the rain cloud in a jar experiment.











1st&2nd Class
First and Second Class made rain gauges as their science project to measure the amount of rainfall during the week. They also carried out the Bubbling magic potion and the cornflour slime experiments in class with the help of the STEM Committee.















3rd&4th Class
Third and Fourth Class made parachutes from different materials for their science projects and tested which ones worked best. They also investigated how plants absorb water using the celery stick dye experiment and they also made their own lava lamps.












5th&6th Class
Fifth and Sixth Class made their own musical instruments and investigated the sounds different materials can make. They also made their own volcanoes erupt and examined how dirty old coins can be cleaned using vinegar and salt.
